To Helles and Back

What the hell is a hells? Well, first and foremost, it’s a Lager… but a unique and distinctive one. The Helles-style Lager was originally developed around Munich in the late nineteenth century by Bavarian brewers to compete with the hugely popular Czech Pilsner. “Helles” (which means “bright” in German) is a clean refreshing summer brew. Our Helles is based with a mix of Pilsner, German Munich, and NYS Pales Malts. However its crisp dry bite comes from the german Hallertaurer Hops and specialty German Lager Yeast. Inherently sessionable due to its relatively low ABV, this Lager lends itself perfect to hot weather drinking and even the hellishly warm days of summer.
